Commemorative Art
Synagogue art and design is a walk through art history. From early mosaics found in ancient synagogues to modern architectural and design elements of today's synagogues and temples, the artworks found in our houses of worship reflect the styles, trends and movements in art and architecture that developed around the world.
Synagogue art also provides us with a view into the development and evolution of religious practice in Judaism. On the most personal and intimate level, synagogue art provides us with the very names of those who were born, came of age, married, gave birth and died in our Jewish communities.
I create commemorative donor pieces to visually and spiritually memorialize those who have passed through the sanctuaries of our Jewish communities.
